Mürren
Switzerland · Bern · 1650 m
Description
Mürren is a car-free mountain village in the Bernese Oberland, perched on a sunny terrace high above the Lauterbrunnen Valley. The traditional alpine resort is renowned for its spectacular setting, peaceful atmosphere, and direct access to the iconic peaks of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. The Schilthorn cableway connects the village with the 2,970-metre Schilthorn summit and its revolving Piz Gloria restaurant, made famous by the James Bond film “On Her Majesty's Secret Service”. In winter, Mürren attracts experienced skiers with its challenging slopes and the historic Inferno Race, while summer brings scenic hiking trails and some of the most breathtaking panoramic views in the Swiss Alps. Combining authentic alpine charm with magnificent mountain scenery, Mürren is considered one of Switzerland's most beautiful mountain villages.
