Saas-Fee
Switzerland · Valais · 1800 m
Description
Saas-Fee is a car-free mountain village in the Swiss canton of Valais, situated at an altitude of around 1,800 metres and regarded as one of the Alps' most renowned holiday destinations. Nestled in a high Alpine valley and surrounded by fourteen peaks exceeding 4,000 metres, the traditional resort is often referred to as the “Pearl of the Alps”. Saas-Fee is celebrated for its spectacular glacier scenery, the glacier ski area on Mittelallalin with summer skiing, the ice pavilion carved into the glacier, and the world's highest revolving restaurant. In summer, hiking trails, via ferratas, and flower-filled alpine meadows attract outdoor enthusiasts, while winter brings excellent skiing, snowboarding, and cross-country trails. Combining breathtaking mountain scenery, authentic Valais traditions, and year-round outdoor activities, Saas-Fee offers one of Switzerland's most distinctive Alpine experiences.
