Saint Pierre and Miquelon · Miquelon-Langlade
Short description of Miquelon
Miquelon is the village at the northern end of the big island and the quiet counterpart to Saint-Pierre, a single street of houses between the harbour and the church. South of it the Grand Barachois opens out, a tidal lagoon where grey and harbour seals haul out in numbers and can be watched from an observatory on the dunes. The road runs the length of the isthmus to Langlade and is the only way across by land. Cap de Miquelon, the headland north of the village, is crossed by trails over moorland and cliffs. The Miquelon airstrip links the island to Saint-Pierre in a few minutes.
