Vietnam · Northwest Vietnam · 250 m

Description

Mai Chau (Mai Châu) is an idyllic valley in northwestern Vietnam and a tranquil retreat of rice fields, limestone mountains, and traditional villages. The region is known for its distinctive stilt houses, the culture of its ethnic communities, particularly the White Thai, as well as its traditional weaving and warm hospitality. Mai Chau combines beautiful scenery with insights into rural life and is best explored on foot or by bicycle through rice fields and small villages. The nearby Pu Luong Nature Reserve, with its rice terraces, forested mountains, and traditional villages, also makes Mai Chau an ideal base for nature and cultural experiences in northern Vietnam.
