Description
Van is the largest city in eastern Türkiye, situated on the shores of Lake Van, the country's largest lake. The region is renowned for its spectacular landscapes, featuring the vast alkaline lake surrounded by rugged mountains, as well as its rich historical heritage. Among its most famous landmarks are the ancient Fortress of Van, once the capital of the Urartian Kingdom, and Akdamar Island, home to the beautifully carved 10th-century Armenian Church of the Holy Cross.
