Description
La Union is the surfing capital of Northern Luzon and one of the Philippines' premier beach destinations. Best known for the coastal town of San Juan, the province attracts surfers with its consistent waves, long sandy beaches, and laid-back atmosphere. While Urbiztondo Beach offers ideal conditions for beginners, more experienced surfers head to breaks such as Monaliza Point and Carrile Point. The main surfing season runs from around October to April, when the northeast monsoon brings the most reliable swells. Beyond the waves, La Union is known for its vibrant café scene, beachfront restaurants, and relaxed coastal lifestyle, while attractions such as Poro Point and Tangadan Falls provide opportunities to explore the surrounding landscape. Combining world-class surfing, scenic coastline, and a welcoming atmosphere, La Union has become one of Northern Luzon's most popular destinations for both local and international travelers.
