Mayon Volcano is the iconic natural landmark of the Bicol Region and one of the most famous volcanoes in the Philippines. Rising 2,462 metres (8,077 ft) above the plains near Legazpi, this active stratovolcano is renowned for its near-perfect symmetrical cone, widely regarded as one of the most beautiful volcanic profiles in the world.
