Short description of In-Gall and Cure Salée

In-Gall is a salt oasis where Wodaabe and Tuareg herders have gathered for centuries at the true end of the rains to graze their animals on the fresh salt pasture, a gathering called the Cure Salée that still happens on a date the rains themselves decide rather than a fixed one. Wodaabe men paint their faces and dance for hours in a courtship display that has become the event's best known image. Herds and camel trains fill the plain around the wells. The whole Agadez region carries a hard security warning and cannot currently be recommended.
