Crater Lake National Park in the U.S. state of Oregon is renowned for the deep blue, exceptionally clear Crater Lake, the deepest lake in the United States. The lake fills the caldera of Mount Mazama, which formed around 7,700 years ago following a massive volcanic eruption and the subsequent collapse of the mountain. The national park captivates visitors with its steep crater walls, dense forests, the distinctive volcanic island of Wizard Island, and spectacular views along the scenic Rim Drive. Hiking trails and a wide range of outdoor experiences provide access to the park’s dramatic volcanic landscape.
