Description

Com is a fishing village on the northeast coast where the road east from Baucau finally meets the sea again, a line of stilt houses and outrigger canoes along a sheltered bay with a reef running parallel to the shore. A few simple guesthouses face the water and serve whatever came in that morning. The water is calm and clear enough to snorkel straight from the sand, and the reef drops off within swimming distance. Nothing much happens here, which is the reason people stay longer than they planned. There is no bank and no reliable phone signal in the village.
