Panglao
Philippines · Central Visayas · 5 m
Description
Panglao is a small island off the southwest coast of Bohol, joined to the mainland by two short bridges and home to the region's main airport and its busiest beach resorts. Alona Beach anchors a strip of dive shops, bars and restaurants, while quieter stretches like Doljo and Momo Beach sit further around the coast. The island is one of the Philippines' most established diving hubs, with house reefs, wall dives and the offshore Balicasag Island marine sanctuary all within easy boat range. Inland, Hinagdanan Cave holds an illuminated underground pool, and the Bohol Bee Farm serves organic meals with sea views. Panglao pairs easily with a day trip to mainland Bohol's Chocolate Hills and tarsiers.
